From Tel'Laerad Wiki
Tel'Laerad is an online community for roleplaying, gaming, and chat, focused on providing a stable, reliable, and entertaining service to our users, and an online roleplaying locale. If you're interested in a place to find or run a roleplaying group, a place to game with people, or just a place to talk, then that's what we're here for. As a place to conduct roleplaying, we believe we can provide one of the best online roleplaying services out there, through our IRC network's additional features to make roleplaying in a group online fluid and enjoyable.
The name comes from combining "Laerad" a (possible) alternative name for Yggdrasil, the World Tree of Norse mythology, with the prefix "Tel", meaning a site revealing multiple layers of civilisation, also used in the name of a setting created by Taros, one of our original founders. Tel'Laerad is, by its own lore, the "Tree of Worlds"; the tree, everything that we provide, supporting the worlds, which are, of course, all those settings played on or using Tel'Laerad. And yes, it is an ash tree.
Tel'Laerad as a project formed out of a merger of efforts between a number of separate people interested in building a place like this, including the IRC side of Argent Citadel Productions. We're currently somewhat more than a year old, and constantly working on improving, expanding, and upgrading our services.
If you're interested in our goals and ideas and want to help, or are already working on something similar, we're interested in other people who may want to join us and become a part of Tel'Laerad. If you're looking for a place to host your community, we can likely provide. If you're just looking for people to play with or talk to, you're welcome here, friend. Contact us if you want more information or to talk about it.

Our staff list, their duties, and their powers, while relatively simple in structure, are still too long to be contained here, and can be seen on the staff wiki page. For information on contacting them, please see the appropriate section of the help page.
If you need help with anything on Tel'Laerad, or want to contact the staff, the main help page can help you, both with information on where to find documentation for different parts of Tel'Laerad, and the various methods of reaching the staff with your queries.
We keep our rules list as to the point as possible, and focused on making Tel'Laerad a good place for all users. Our list is on the Rules page. Our staff are bound to those rules as any other users are, and in addition have a Staff Guidelines document, aimed at the staff, which advises them on how they should use their power on Tel'Laerad.
Our overall, primary goals can be read about on the Goals of Tel'Laerad page.
While these overall goals are constant, our individual plans on how to accomplish it are fluid, and as such, there is no official, guaranteed document detailing our plans at this point. However, if you're interested in a rough idea of what we're thinking of with no particular guarantees, you can take a look at our To-Do pages.
The standard list of things we can't guarantee or promise, and things which we absolve any responsibility for, applied across all our services, is on the Disclaimers page. There shouldn't be anything too surprising there.
